In 1998 under the leadership of Pastor Ross Kight, a mission was formed out of Heritage Baptist Church of Glennville.  The mission began because of the need for an Independent Baptist Church in the Montgomery County area.  The mission began in a home and later moved to a former grocery store on the courthouse square in Mt. Vernon, GA. In October of 1999 the church was officially organized as Calvary’s Grace Baptist Church. In June of 2000 Brian Patrick answered the call to become the Pastor. At that time with just two members and the Pastor's family, the current building was bought and partial renovation completed.

At the beginning of 2001, twenty-three acres of land was purchased for the purpose of a youth camp. And to God's Glory the camp was paid in full by 2004. In 2007 the very first Youth Camp was held. There was over 90 in attendance. By 2008 Calvary's Grace was able to hold both a Teen and a Junior Camp. Since that time there has been Teens and Juniors receiving Christ as their Saviour at the Camp each year.

In 2005 the church had a record 50 in Sunday School. And in 2006 the Sunday Morning attendance hit 80 for the first time. In April 2010, the church exchanged their current church building and property on the square in Mt. Vernon for new property in Ailey, GA facing Hwy. 280. On May 2, 2010, they had a groundbreaking at the new church site. By 2014 the church was finally finished with Sunday Morning attendance close to 200 every Sunday. In 2017 Pastor Patrick celebrated 17 years at Calvary's Grace. To God be the Glory their has been over 1000 souls saved through the ministries of Calvary's Grace.
